Noah Mennenga is a musician with the United States Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps, a historical ensemble based in Washington D.C.
Originally from Cottage Grove, WI, Noah studied with Dr. Ryan Gardner at Oklahoma State University for his bachelor’s degree where he regularly performed solo, chamber, jazz, wind ensemble, and orchestral music. He’s had success at the National Trumpet Competition, appearing as an Undergraduate Solo Division finalist in 2017 (3rd), 2018 (1st), and 2019 (2nd). He also won the 2018 International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition.
Noah received a Fulbright Study/Research Grant to the Hochschule Luzern (Switzerland), receiving his master’s degree with Huw Morgan and Immanuel Richter. His research focused on international trumpet competitions. He has a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
Apart from solo and chamber music he has performed with Festival Strings Lucerne, Colorado Symphony, the Sinfonieorchester Luzern, Sinfonieorchester Biel Solothurn, the Longmont (CO) Symphony, and the Round Top Festival Orchestra.
Outside of trumpet you can find him reading (Flannery O’Connor & Wendell Berry for now), taking walks, enjoying Milwaukee Brewers baseball, being involved with his local church community, and going to fast casual restaurants. You’ll most likely NOT find him cooking something great or staying up late.
